Most “top ERP” lists are twenty names deep, which is useful for research and useless for deciding. If you have already done the research and want it narrowed to the two systems an Indian institute should actually be choosing between, this is that page.

1. DigiERP
Built by Digilite Informatics in Indore for schools, colleges and universities. All 18 modules included rather than sold separately, unlimited users, one flat annual AMC quoted per institution, and implemented by the team that writes the code. Choose it when: you are a college or university that needs the whole academic and administrative chain — admissions through to accounts — without enterprise pricing, and you want the people who built the software to be the people who implement it.
2. Fedena
One of the longest-standing names in Indian school and college management software, with an open-core history and broad module coverage. A reasonable first look for institutes that want something well established.
Choose it when: you want a long-established name with a large installed base and a broad module set, and you are comfortable checking carefully how its pricing scales with your student numbers and which modules sit in the plan you are quoted.
The honest difference between them
Both cover the standard modules. The difference is commercial rather than functional: DigiERP is quoted per institution with everything included and unlimited users, so your bill does not move as you grow or as you add staff to the system. Check any alternative against that specific question, because it is the one that decides what you pay in year three.
How to judge any of these yourself
Feature lists are useless — they are all true and all identical. These six questions are not:
- Who does the implementation? The company that built the software, or a reseller? Someone has to import ten years of your records.
- Show me a concession and a refund. Not a slide — the actual screens. This is where most education ERPs quietly fall apart.
- Is pricing per user or per student? Both charge you for growing. Ask what the bill looks like in year three.
- Does it produce my university’s formats? Almost the right format means re-typing every examination cycle.
- What happens during admission week? It has to survive your busiest fortnight, not a quiet demo.
- How do I export my data if I leave? A vague answer is the answer.
Start with one real process
